Laura and Austin met at a party their freshman year of college at the University of Georgia. Their story is packed with adventures from their travels. One of the best memories they shared with me was when Austin proposed on their third anniversary on a private dock in Savannah. Laura tells the story with avid joy still to this day.
They got married at the University of Georgia Chapel on a pretty day in March. I love when a couple show cases their romantic sentiments. Austin teared up when seeing his bride come down the aisle. Her mother escorted her in strapless gown, since her father had passed. Not to be forgotten, he was honored by his initials being sewn onto the inside of her dress-her something blue!
Laura wore a beautiful A-line dress with delicate beading on the side and a gorgeous lace veil. She had a black and ivory color scheme with hints of mint green. It was perfect for a spring wedding.
Austin has a rather calm demeanor, but don’t let that fool you. He’s a heck of a dancer and got the crowd going into the late hours. Amidst his amiable demeanor is quite the charismatic man that Laura fell head over heals for.
One of my favorite memories captured was when the trolley was a no-show… Laura strolled right up to Broad Street and hailed cab. Side note, she is a CBS news anchor. And she’s a gorgeous, fearless woman, for sure! On a softer note, Laura and Austin Skyped their grandparents during the whole wedding because they were’t able to make it. How sweet is that?
Their reception was at the Melting Point. Laura and Austin had a great time dancing and singing on stage and celebrating their day. Their friends and family were so fun and full of energy which made the day really fun! I loved getting to know them and shoot their wedding!
Laura and Austin, thank you for letting me shoot your wedding! You are both wonderful and gracious beyond measure. I wish you all the best in the many years to come!

A little side note for you brides-to-be. I often photograph many families who have things that make them unique. Loved ones who are present or loved ones who are not. Fanciful decor or sentimental treasures. Expensive, break-the-bank weddings or a home-grown, intimate affair. I can say, without doubt, that your wedding is going to be beautiful. You don’t necessarily need to follow the guidelines perfectly. Live a little, play a little, break the rules. This is your wedding day! By honoring your guests and cherishing the love that you have found-you will bless those that are in attendance. Just don’t sweat the details.
